PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Fired Earth Liquid Rust is a twin pack comprising of a 1 litre base coat, containing iron filings. A separate 250ml liquid rust agent used in conjunction in desired quantities to achieve a decorative rusted coating. Varying degrees of rusting effects from subtle colour variations to special aged rust effects can be achieved.

IMPORTANT

Please note that Fired Earth Liquid Rust needs to be used in conjunction with Fired Earth Rusting Agent, which is sold separately. The more Fired Earth Rusting Agent you apply the more prominent the rusting and ageing process. When doing larger areas take into account the fast drying time of the Fired Earth Liquid Rust Paint base as the rusting agent must be worked into the wet surface to ensure that the proper rusting effect is achieved. If the rusting agent is applied to the dried rust paint the maximum effect will not be achieved. Carefully plan to paint small areas at a time to activate the rust process with Fired Earth Rusting Agent while the Fired Earth Rust Paint is slightly wet and tacky. The oxidation or rusting process will begin to show after about half an hour and will continue thereafter on exposure to the elements.

SPREADING RATE

This product will cover approximately 4 to 6 m² / litre per coat depending on the type of substrate and surface texture and porosity. Fired Earth Rusting Agent: Approximately 10 m² / litre.

DRYING PROPERTIES

Touch-dry: 1 hour
Over-coating time: 4 - 6 hours

CLEANING

Clean all tools (brushes & rollers) while wet with water after use.
